Proposal for Island Organics Bali From Maré Greyling · thevertex · November 2026

One platform for the farm, the kitchen table and the road between them.

A new website, apps for your customers, your farm team and your drivers, WhatsApp and AI — all running on one system. I build it for free. You only pay the monthly running costs, and only once you're happy with it.

Hi Island Organics team,

It's been a long time, and I owe you the reason. While I was in Bali, I suffered a head injury and lost all of my memory. I rebuilt my brain on my own, piece by piece — and I got it all back. I remember you, and I remember you very well.

As my memory came back, so did you — the work I did for you while I was in Bali, the farm in Baturiti, and the organic vegetables you provided me with. I remember you all fondly. I've already started building something for you, and now I'd like to do it properly.

So here's my offer: I'll build Island Organics a complete platform, at no cost for the build. When it's done and you're happy with it, you pay only what it costs to keep it running each month — hosting, WhatsApp and AI. If you're not happy, you owe nothing.

The build Free Design, website, dashboard, apps, WhatsApp and AI setup — all of it.
Monthly, only if you're happy ≈ Rp 3.8 million a month (R3,500 — about Rp 3,834,000 at today's rate) for hosting, WhatsApp and AI together. Nothing until you're happy with it.
No lock-in You decide at the end Your shop keeps running as it is until you choose to switch over.

What I saw on your site today

Everything here — and every photo in these designs — is taken from islandorganicsbali.com — so the new platform starts from how you already work, not from a template.

Your shop runs on Shopify, with eight categories — herbs and aromatics, fruits, organic, pantry staples, salad greens, vegetables, garnish and store credit.
The Harvest Box is your CSA: about 5 kg of what's in season, on 1, 4 or 30 deliveries, paid upfront, with changes by 2 PM before delivery day.
Two delivery zones: the west coast on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday; Ubud, Sanur, Denpasar and the Bukit on Monday, Wednesday and Friday — order by 2 PM the day before.
Orders need Rp 200,000 to check out, delivery is free from Rp 250,000 with 4 different produce, and payment goes upfront through Xendit.
You harvest per order, so when something is short, the invoice is adjusted to what actually goes out.
Customer service is on WhatsApp (+62 812-3787-6584), Monday to Saturday, 9 to 3 — separate from the shop. The meal plan and edible-flowers catalogue sit in Google Drive.
Where I think it gets heavy — my read, please correct me: the cut-offs and zones are explained in text but not built into checkout; short harvests mean invoices adjusted by hand; WhatsApp chats and orders live in different places; Harvest Box changes come in as requests; and your best extras (meal plan, flower catalogue) live outside the shop.

What I'll build — one platform, every device

Dashboard · DjangoThe farm's control roomOrders, each day's harvest list, zones and cut-offs, seasonal stock, Harvest Box subscriptions, automatic invoice adjustments, and accounts for hotels and restaurants.
Website · ReactA new shop, made for phones firstShop by season, see your delivery day before you pay, sign up for the Harvest Box, and browse recipes, the meal plan and the flower catalogue — all in one place.
Customer app · iOS & AndroidReorder in two tapsRepeat last week's order, skip or swap a Harvest Box before the 2 PM cut-off, and follow the delivery as it comes.
Farm appToday's pick list, by cropThe field team sees exactly what to harvest for tomorrow's orders. Mark something short and the invoice adjusts itself — the customer is told.
Staff & delivery appsPacking and the roadPacking lists per order, then each zone's route for the day, proof of delivery, and an "on the way" message to the customer.
WhatsApp & AIYour number, working for youOrder updates, "what's in season this week", reorder by reply, and one inbox in the dashboard. AI suggests answers, substitutions and the weekly harvest message — a person approves every one before it's sent.

What it does for you, every day

Shows off the farm, every timeYour team takes a photo in the field on their phone and, once you approve it, it goes to the shop, the app and the weekly WhatsApp — so every customer sees where their food grows, what's just been picked and what's coming into season.
Makes picking simpleAfter the 2 PM cut-off, the farm app adds up every order into one pick list by crop. Mark something short and the invoice adjusts, with the customer told once you approve.
Gets deliveries out rightEach zone's run is put in order for the driver, customers get an "on the way" message, and every drop ends with a photo and a one-tap "order again".
Makes ordering easyWebsite, app or WhatsApp — one basket, with the delivery day, zone and Rp 200,000 minimum built in, Harvest Box swaps and skips before 2 PM, and reorder in two taps.

How one order travels

  1. 1OrderWebsite, app or WhatsApp — one basket.
  2. 22 PM cut-offThe day locks; the zone sets the delivery date.
  3. 3Pick listThe farm app totals every crop to harvest.
  4. 4PackingShort items adjust the invoice automatically.
  5. 5The routeDrivers get the zone's stops in order.
  6. 6DeliveredPhoto, WhatsApp message, and "order again".

What stays the same

  • Your domain, your name and your WhatsApp number
  • Xendit for payments
  • Your products, prices and customers — moved over from Shopify
  • Shopify keeps running alongside until you're ready to switch

How I'll roll it out

In this order, and I'll show you each stage working before it goes live.

  1. New website, dashboard and Xendit checkout
  2. WhatsApp and the customer app
  3. Farm, packing and delivery apps
  4. AI, switched on once the rest is working

Who's building it

I'm a senior full-stack developer and fractional CTO with 27+ years of building software that has to work on Monday morning. My core stack is exactly what this platform runs on — Python, Django, React and React Native with Expo — and I've shipped AI integrations across proptech, fintech, healthcare and real-time products. AI is part of how I build now, but I decide what gets made, and I can explain every line of it.

Why I'm doing this

Because remembering you was part of getting my memory back — and that's why I'm doing this for you for free. My brain is back in full power, and AI is now a tool on my belt — one I program to work well for the people I build for. I command AI. It doesn't command me.

How I work: I build it, I test it, and you see it working before anything goes live. Every automatic step has a person approving it — nothing is sent to a customer, and nothing changes an order, without someone on your team saying yes.

The next step

Just reply with a yes and I'll get going. If you'd like to talk it through first, I'm happy to call — but there's no need unless you want one.
